It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her newest gem.

Originally famous as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Many contend the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a disappointing period because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive nature kick in and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her key asset - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from there the right-hander was in motion.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was out Australia needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is likely to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as skipper.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
