Ten individuals sentenced of digital abuse directed at Brigitte Macron

A French judicial body has found guilty ten people for engaging in the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the partner of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The accused individuals faced charges of circulating fabrications regarding her gender identity and sexuality, in addition to making hurtful comments about the husband and wife's 24-year age gap.
The court delivered suspended jail terms of as much as eight months to the defendants. The detailed judgment has yet to be released.
A longstanding conspiracy theory alleging that Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman has existed since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.
This Monday's court decision in France coincides with the Macrons pursuing a legal action for defamation in the United States of America against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared analogous false narratives about the Brigitte Macron's biological sex.
Their lawsuit contends that Owens ignored substantial counter-evidence disproving her claim opting to give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has regularly repeated these assertions on her podcast and online platforms, and in March 2024 declared that she would risk all her credibility on her belief that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron initially encountered her future husband when she was a teacher at his lycée.
The pair married in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was 54.
